On 7th July 2018 within the framework of the Iron-Age Danube Interreg Europe project during the by now traditional annual ’Celtic Festival of Sopron’  an archaeological heritage trail was inaugurated at Sopron-Várhely. The project was realized as a collaboration between the Archaeolingua Foundation and the Sopron Forestry Education LLC.

The 1.8 km long trail winds through a scenic nature reserve guiding hikers along the Iron-Age landscape of 159 tumuli. Seven boards set up along the trail provide information in English, German and Hungarian on Iron-Age landscape and heritage, including customs and attire, burial rites and symbolic grave goods and the monumental rampart surrounding the Iron Age hillfort at Várhely. The site contains many unique archaeological features, including a pile dwelling  of 64 m2, parts of which were reconstructed as 3D models. Visitors may find out more about this unique housing and other finds on the boards.
