This volume samples 11 papers on the archaeological aspects of landscape ideologies. The contributions range from the term and social function of “landscape” to the implementation of the European Landscape Convention in specific heritage environments. Further issues include the differences and reception of landscape research in “East” and “West”, the ideological background of European heritage management and visions on an archaeological position towards interdisciplinary landscape management.
